Ok, I know we should have had this done a few months ago; but we are finally meeting the caterer on Saturday for a tasting and (hopefully) to sign a contract. 

What are some questions I should ask when we go?  I'm totally drawing a blank.

- When do you need the final count? Can we add/remove people after this date?
- Are napkins, silverware, plates, CAKE PLATES, included?

That's all I can think of right now.

When i was meeting the lady at the venue sight me and my fi are goin to book that also provides the catering ( that we haven't booked yet, shame on us lol) she informed us we had to pay for food for at least 50 guests whether we had 50 guests coming or not to use their services. This wasn't a really big deal for us since i'm sure we'll have at least 50 people, however, if i was trying to have a smaller affair this would have been a deal breaker!  I don't know what kind of reception you're planning, but i guess making sure what the minium number of guests they will serve is a fair question, i'm guessing theres probably some companies that only cater for rather large events.

Ask about how far in advance they prepare the food and how they're going to make sure it stays warm and in good/fresh quality before they serve it to your guests.

There's nothing worse than cold food that's supposed to be warm!

-Serving style:  if buffet do they have people serve it or is it just get what you want?
-gratuity: see if it's included or not
-Price points: sometimes kids are cheaper/free
-Price: note everything it includes and see if you'll need anything else
-Plate removal: when/how does it happen
