Invite/enclosure card question

I've seen a lot of elaborate invites and I opted to go a simple route.  Now I am nervous that my guests won't have enough information. Please let me know what you think.

We got our invites through Wedding Paper Divas. We bought invites, matching RSVP cards and thank you cards and got the envelopes for everything. As of right now, all that would be going out to each guest is an invite and an RSVP card/return envelope. The invites are very simple. 1 sided (well the design carries onto the back) and flat.

The invites have the name of the venue, the address, the date and time. It just says "reception to follow" because our reception will be immediately after the ceremony, in the same location.

I guess when I ordered the invites an additional enclousure card seemed unneccesary because everything was in 1 place and there was no gap. We have a wedding website with other details and the web address for it was included on the STDs. Now I am 2nd guessing myself and am considering making up a business card on VP that just gives the website information one more time.  There are maps & stuff on the website but I'm pretty sure people can google the address on their own. The only thing I guess I'm concerned about people making sure they check out again is our hotel/shuttle accomodations and the fact that it's an outdoor ceremony.

Am I overthinking this? It wouldn't be a huge deal to order the cards but it wouldn't match the other stuff :( I don't know what to do.

Re: Invite/enclosure card question

  • I think your fine.

I only had my invitation (flat & simple, one-sided), my response card, and a reception card. The only reason why I did the reception card is because it's in a different location & even different city. I didn't have enough room on the invitation to put all that info.

  • I think you will be fine.  If people have any questions or concerns, I'm sure they'll know to contact you.  The elaborate invitations today with tons of inserts are pretty new - your older guests will be used to it if they don't use the web, and your younger guests will have the website from your save-the-dates!

  • I think you're fine.  That's about all we'll be having, and people will definitely ask questions if they have them.
  • I think you're fine. If you're doing meal choices those could go on the RSVP but if you're doing buffet just how many can attend. The food is the only thing I was thinking about since your reception is in the same place.

    What design did you get?
  • You're fine. I'm doing the exact same thing as you are (Wedding Paper Divas, too!). What I plan to do is to send an email out after the invites are mailed reminding all the email-savvy people of our website address. That way you get a nice clean invite and you can remind everyone of the website if they forgot it.

We aren't doing meal choices..everyone just gets chicken and filet both! There are a handful of sometimes vegetarians so I will just ask them if they want a veg meal if they don't write it on there.

Here's the link to the invites:

  • I think you're fine.  Mine only have the invite and RSVP card since the reception is inside at the same location and dinner will be a buffet so I don't need to worry about getting info on that from guests.

  • I think you will be fine, but if you're really concerned about it, just order another insert from Wedding Paper Divas.  I got my invites through Wedding Paper Divas too and did an insert card with the hotel and transportation information on it.  However, I don't have a wedding website so they're not getting any info anywhere else.
  • I personally chose to reinclude the wedding website, as it has all the inforation on everything form directions to hotel acoomodations to registry info, I had many people requets that I resend this info as my STDs went out last October. I think it is worth including!
