June 2012 Weddings

I *think* I have picked my FG dresses...

I hope!

I keep double-guessing myself.  I realize that on the day-of I won't be regretting the decision, I realize that my nieces-to-be will look adorable in just about anything.  But somehow I'm afraid I'm going to look back and think, "Oh, if only I'd picked something else..."

Anyway...here they are! (clicky)

What do you think?  I'm about to send them to my FSILs for their opinions/ordering.  Fingers crossed!

Does anyone else have photos of their FG dresses to share?

  • Super cute! I'm in love with some Joan Calabrese dresses and I'm trying to justify the purchase...they're expensive, but so adorable! I only have one flower girl, so I'm allowed to splurge, right?!? :)
  • Very pretty. I love a FG in ivory/white. Super cute.

    Very cute!

We aren't having kids in the wedding. There are too many to choose from! If my sisters daughter and FSIL son were walking by the wedding, we would have had them, but they will only be about 9 months old at that time. Too young. :(

If I did have a flowergirl, she would probably be in orange, something like this is cute!

  • Those are precious! I can't believe they were originally over $100! That's insane that kids clothing costs so much. Don't second guess yourself if you like these dresses, it's not worth the stress and if you like them go for it.
  • I think that is absolutely adorable!! Thanks for posting that site! I found one at DB that I really like but it was like $150.  FG's mom is ok with that but they are already spending SO much money (dad is BM, brother is RB, sister is Jr BM) that I just can't justify that on a dress she will wear once and outgrow in two months haha.  They had some really similar dresses that I think I will show them!!

My FG dress was $200, I nearly choked when I found that out and was shocked my aunt bought it.

That is CRAZY expensive for DB, especially when they sell wedding dresses for that much!  Wow!  I absolutely refused to ask my FSILs to spend more than $50 per girl for a dress that they're only going to wear once.  They kept telling me it was NBD, but I just wasn't even comfortable asking them to, regardless of what they could afford.

Here are some other great sites I browsed, my FSIL sent them to me and they were great:

    <div><a href="http://flowergirldressforless.com/" rel="nofollow">flowergirldressforless.com</a> (free shipping)</div> <div><a href="http://pinkprincess.com/" rel="nofollow">pinkprincess.com</a> (free shipping)</div> <a href="http://prettyflowergirl.com/" rel="nofollow">prettyflowergirl.com</a> ($5 shipping)

Since I was looking for ivory dresses, I looked in ALL areas of the sites; they're not laid out the best.  There were a lot of dresses meant for flower girls in the communion section of a couple, for instance, that work for communion but are also beautiful FG dresses!

  • Oh, and if anyone wants a good laugh...

For the bride who just HAS to have her flower girl look like Kate Middleton:
    http://www.flowergirldressforless.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=Flower-Girl&Product_Code=SP_536&Category_Code=120

That's taking "Miniature version of the bride" waaaay too far, in my book.

  • I *think* most of those flower girl dress sites are run by the same company, based in Los Angeles.  If you find a better deal/free ship on one, you can be reasonable sure that it's the same dress as on the other sites.
  • That dress is absolutely perfect, I love it!  So cute!  I don't think you'll have any regrets, its a classic style and will look just lovely on little girls.

Zim - I have the same picture on my phone of that dress!  Its a contender for my flower girls' dress, but theres another I found that I might like a little better.  I don't have a link or anything because I just saw it in the store once.

Interesting, though it makes sense.  Aside from a few staples though, they all seemed to have very different selections.

  • I can't remember how it came up...it was on the Bee.  I think it was that someone ordered something that wasn't in stock and they were told they could pick something else from a few different sites?  I can't remember.

It makes sense in light of how many ways people might google to find dresses for kids.
  • I think it's adorable. Here are mine:

    For the older girls:

    For the younger one:

I love them, although it was hard for me to pick at first, too. One day I just got tired of waffling about them, went into a store, and picked these within five minutes. I was ready to be done, haha!

  • We actually found my FG dress at Burlington Coat Factory. It was only $28 and it was a dress I had found at both Macy's and online. My FG's mom suggested going there and they really had a great selection.
