What is everyone up to this weekend?

«1

Re: What is everyone up to this weekend?

  • Headed back to our hometown.  Meeting with the church and going over our FOCCUS test results finally (we took it in like October). Then time with families.
  • I'm glad it's Friday.

Today I'm leaving work a few minutes early because honestly, I can and I'm sick of looking at my desk.  After work my FI and I are making dinner together and maybe working on assembling more invites.

Saturday: Driving by to look at more potential houses, going to my credit union to get preapproved for a mortgage (*fingers crossed*), and maybe doing some stuff downtown.

    Sunday: Mostly more DIY stuff.

  • WR- I hope to look for a veil for the wedding and work on my bouquets. Dance class on Sunday with my FI.

NWR- Took a mental health day from work today. Going to the movies and to see a family friend ( my realtor) . Ushering at Church tomorrow. Sunday IDK.

  • WR: Going shopping with FMIL for her dress, looking for centerpieces, and FI's band

NWR: My parents are coming over for dinner for the first time since FI and I moved into our house (we moved in in AUGUST...and they live 10 minutes away...whoops!) And....the ever dreaded homework...ugh
    First comes Love (2.23.2006)
    Then comes Marriage (6.23.2012)
    Then comes Baby #1 (5.10.2013)
    And Baby #2 (EDD 6.15.2014)
    In the baby carriage!
  • I'm leaving work around 12:30-1 today.  I'll be doing a mountain of laundry and cleaning today/tonight.

Other than that we have no plans this weekend except to clean out the ridiculous amount of shows on the dvr and that makes me a happy panda!
  • I'm going to a BM's baby shower tomorrow--excited!

Birthday brunch with my Sorority sisters on Sunday. :)

  • FI's kids weekend!

Tonight: Dropping off 2 of the boys (one being my son, the other FI's) at the arena to watch UML hockey game. It'll be the first time my son goes somewhere with no adult supervision. He'll be 11 next month and FI's son is 12. They will be meeting up with a few other friends that are 12/13 yrs old. Let's see how it goes.

Tomorrow: Work in the morning. The boys will be going to a b-day party for a friend so I think I might take FI's daughter with me to pick up her dress (just came in)! FI has to work at night so I'll be home with the 4 kids. I think I'll work on more invitations & stuff.

Sunday: Church, couponing class. After that, I think I'm going to head to the mall and pick up something for Valentine's Day for FI. I'm also going to look at rings for him. He showed me what he likes, so I might just buy one for him if the sale is good enough.

Oh, then there's all the normal cleaning and laundry and stuff that has to get done this weekend as well.

How many "components" do you have?  I'm starting to think of the assemply process and I won't be using pockets, so I need to look into ribbon, twine, or some kind of band.

  • Tonight, we are going to dinner with a couple I work with at an amazing pizza place that lets you bring your own wine and beer and they have bands play every night.

Tomorrow, I need to get crafty. I need to modge podge a picture I want to hang in our living room, redo some of my fabric flowers because we have a slight change in wedding colors, and make my little sister's dress. I doubt if I will finish all of that, but hopefully I can make a good dent in it. Then a birthday party for FI's sister.

    Sunday - Laundry and cleaning.

Mine isn't too bad.  I'm making the pocketfolds myself so really that's the biggest time commitment.  After the pocketfold is assembled it's simply attaching the actual invite and putting everything in the pocket.

  • I get to go see FI this weekend! He's been in California for work for the past three weeks, and it's been so hard without him. We live in different cities right now anyway, but usually see each other at least every two weeks. So I'm pretty excited about it :)
  • Tonight - I'm taking my Nana to see a play

Tomorrow - baby shower in the morning and I need to do some serious laundry! Probably go to church in the afternoon

Sunday - Going to lunch and to see The Vow with one of my BM

Wow!  That sounds like a big project.  May I ask how you're making them?  Is it more cost-effective than purchasing them?

  • My FI just left for work about 15 minutes ago today he works from 12-9.  We had a nice lazy morning together than when he gets home tonight its straight to bed with him because he has his LSAT tomorrow.

No plans for Sunday hopefully it is nice out so we can go to the beach or hang out in the park.

I'm really hoping to hear back from forver 21 today.  The DM called me yesterday and the interview went really well she said she is going to call the store manager back.  Hopefully she does that today so I can get scheduled to come back in Monday!  Hoping for some good news and really looking forward to settling down here and getting onto a schedule.

I simply made a template with paper and now I'm assembling them.  I made a template so they would work best with my invitations and the rest of the paper products (done with VP).
It is WAY more cost effective than purchasing them though it can take a lot of time to assemble.  I can get 1.5 pocketfolds out of a normal 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock.  I paid about $2 per 50 sheets at Joanns with a coupon so that works out to about a quarter per pocketfold.  Then I just have glue dots to hold everything together which costs a few cents more per completely assembled invite.
