Is anyone having their dress preofessionally cleaned after?

I just realized that I need to start looking into to this. I was wondering what the average cost is for those having their dress professionally cleaned.

Re: Is anyone having their dress preofessionally cleaned after?

  • I dont know what the cost is, but I plan to get mine done right away. I am having an outdoor ceremony and reception so the bottom of my dress will most likely be pretty dirty!

  • I probably will have it *professionally* cleaned and preserved

  • Oh yeah and I will not have it preserved. If I ever have a little girl, I want her to be able to play dress up in in :) And lets be honest.... what are the odds she will like my dress enough to want to wear it on her wedding day? Slim to none.....

  • It really depends on how dirty it gets, I am doing an outside wedding so I will have it cleaned but not sure about preserved yet. I don't know that i will need to do that. I have a 14 yr old neice who already says she wants it when she gets married, which I hope is not for a long time.
  • I am. Mom found a company that does it out of Louisiana for less than $200. I don't remember what it is called. But they send you prepostage and then ship it to you all nice and pretty in an acid free box.

  • We bought the package deal with DB when I bought my dress. hey clean and preserve it for you. Just stick it in the box and mail it to them. It cost $89 at time of purchasing dress, $199 after the fact.

  • I'm having mine cleaned professionally. The place recommended to me was expensive (I haven't gotten a quote yet from them, but was told they're pricey) but is apparently the best in the Chicago area.
  • I plan on having it professionally cleaned after as well but I didn't look up the pricing for it.
I don't think it'll be easy but i'm going to try and sell it afterwards, I don't have any reason to keep it and it's only going to be hemmed, which i'm wearing tall shoes with.
