Engagement Pictures

For those of you who are doing/have done engagement photos, how far in advance do you plan on taking them? I was thinking of taking them next month for the 1 year away mark...or is that corny? LOL  I would want the pictures for STDs and for the newspaper.

i am doing it next month for std and so it will be warm and we can be around water

We're doing ours in September. I think Fall pictures will be pretty since all of our wedding pictures will be in the Summer. We will send out our STDs in October probably.

We already did ours (I know I know) and some of them are in my profile under the pictures tab. We did them in the fall because I love the leaves changing and wanted some pictures with us and it but there was no way I wasn't getting married in the spring or summer (I get cold far too easily and didn't want sleeves on my dress). We're not doing STD's, we'll use them for personal use and the newspaper announcements. Maybe even as part of the reception decor.

Pretty much this exactly.  I think having them done 1 year out is a great idea though.  Definitely not to soon.

We're doing ours in the summer when my FI and I are tan.  I love the summer so I want our pictures to be summery and fun. And I want to use them for STDs which will send our late summer/early fall.

We're doing one in August (on the 9th to be exact!), one in September, and one whenever we can remember to do it...

W e are doing ours in the next month or so. I am going to scout out a place this weekend to see if I like it. We will be using ours for our STD and engagement announcements.

RIght now we're planning on doing them in June, but we may push them to August so FI won't be so stressed out with his bar prep classes.

We'll be doing ours sometime this spring, once we decide on a photographer!  I'm planning on using the pictures for our STDs.  I really wanted springtime photos though, because we got engaged in spring

We are doing ours in two weeks! I can't wait!! We are going to a waterfall and bringing our dog too!! It makes the wedding seem so real!

We're doing ours on the 31st. I'm really excited. We're doing them in down town Des Moines. It should be a lot of fun.

We took our last week. I wanted to take ours in the fall, but FI was home last week from school and the only other times he will be home before the wedding are August (too hot) and December (too cold), so April was the best weather-wise month we could take them. Ours were so much fun and I'm waiting very impatiently to see them!

I want to do ours in June. Winter and fall are pretty gross here. I don't like everything looking dead.

Chad and I have no idea where we want ours taken, except we want them outdoors. There is this awesome iron bridge, that is painted black and has the cute lamps. I would love some pictures there, but there isn't anything else of interest in that area. Not sure about that. I think we will as our Photographer what she thinks.

I did mine in April. Since it is basically the perfect temperature to do outside pictures. Still waiting for the proofs though! I hope they turn out amazing!
