As I am sitting here working on my RD seating chart, I am SO glad I opted not to do a seating chart for the reception. It took me like 3 hours to work out a seating chart for 4 tables of 8-10 people, total 36 people. Why are so many of FI's friends so incredibly socially awkward?!? Two of them are afraid of girls practically so neeed to be seated mostly with their own family.. and my dad is kinda a rough character and had to have special consideration for his seat.. plus trying to keep couples and families with small children together, and make sure the singles know other people at their table.. wow! I can't imagine doing this for 25 tables for my wedding reception.
I was SO sure it was going to just HAVE TO be awkward and weird and finally I got it.. but geeminy!
Seating charts suck!
And I'm a teacher so I do them ALL the time.
You know what's majorly different though? TRYING to put people with their close friends/people they want to talk to.. it's so much easier to SEPARATE them (like at school!). Hahaha..
