Outdoor Altar Help

Hi Ladies-

We are having a tent wedding and I've been trying to come up with a way to "mark" the altar, without the same old arch idea. I found this picture and it spawned a little bit of direction in my overloaded brain. I figure we can use a long table in front (in lieu of the 2 stands) and line it with tealights in globe vases (to ensure the flames are protected) But what else could we do? Our floral arrangements aren't really tall, so I'm wondering what else we could do for some height, like the pic shows... Any ideas?

I am having an outdoor wedding and to mark the are we are using tall willow sticks in large vases like below
  • Are you having a religious ceremony? A flower cross would be beautiful.

  • You could also hang something from the tent, I'm seen ribbons, tissue pomanders, pinwheels, etc.

  • I love the branch in vases look. We're having an indoor wedding and we're using this in our centerpieces. Its a cheap way to add height.

<div>I think your florist might be able to help you out. I know a ton of churches around here have them outside on Easter, so maybe you could call some local churches that do that and ask them.</div><div>
</div><div>I'd be more than happy to give you the names of the churches that I saw do it here if you wanted to call them.</div>
  • A friend is putting my bouquets together so I don't have a florist to consult about the cross idea....

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies. Need to see what I can do/afford.
  • We are using to kind of large arrangments on stands, one on each side. kind of like your photol.  With no table or arch or anything else.
