Dress Second Guessing

Does anyone ever second guess their dress? I really do love mine, but sometimes I wish my dress was more fitted and less full. I feel like my dress looks more like a young bride. Ugh. I hate feeling like this. Please tell me I'm not alone. Haha

Kelsey, I love your dress!! You look amazing in it! But, sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice as well. Then I just go look at it and know its "The One"

I know the exact feeling, Kelsey!

My dress is tea length and has a very vintage look to it which I LOVE. It wasn't what I was picturing as my wedding dress when I was looking but I tried it on and fell in love with it! I  have second thoughts about it and always think about other dresses I may have chosen and if I will regret having a shorter dress, etc. So far my Mom, 2 aunts, and 3 of my bridesmaids have seen me in it and say its "so me" and how gorgeous it fits me but I still can't help second guessing it,

It makes me feel better when I look at it again in person or try it on again. When I am looking at it I fall in love with it all over again. I guess its just the thinking about it that gets to me.

I think everyone second guesses their dress. (I got a new one due to other reasons, but I sitll wonder if I picked the right one.) When I am wondering, I go to the spare room and look at it. Or look at the picture of me in it and then I love it all over again.

It is a huge part of the wedding, probalby the most important detail for most, besides the groom, of course!

THANK YOU for posting this!  I have been on and off, but it's been really bad the last few days.  I am hoping once it actually arrives and I see it again, I'll fall in love with it again...but there's part of me that worries it's too little-girl princessy.  I feel a little better after receiving my February copy of BRIDES magazine today and I saw a few similar dresses there, but it's very much the minority.  Sigh...

Jeannine you are going to be a gorgeous bride! I meant to comment on your blog post about your skin. I think your crazy to be concerned! Mo one is going to think you're an "old" bride....just a gorgeous one.

Angela, there's a picture of me in my dress on our group Facebook page. I don't have access to the picture right now or I'd PIP.

I tried on one that was slightly more simple than my dress and it was my second choice. Sometimes I still think about that one.

I never felt old before I came to the wedding boards. 34 is old around here!

At a bridal show on Sunday, I was with two friends.  We all had the bride clips on our outfits.  Someone asked if I was my friends' planner or mother.  That was awesome.

I love your dress! I also think it fits very well with theme you have and the look you want to have for your wedding. I think your dress is timeless and classic and you will still think the dress is beautiful in years to come. Some styles are a fad and I don't think will look as pretty down the road.

Better this morning, K? I think your gown is romantic and the bodice is sophisticated. I saw that Taylor Swift wore is...she looks like a child in everything she wears, so I hope that wasn't contributing to your doubt. The shape of your gown is classic!

I'm sure you get the same looks, if you don't live in the city. Back in Boston and NYC, a bride in her 30s is totally normal. Here...not so much.

Kelsey you look gorgeous in your dress! I too had second thoughts--I think it's only natural after making such a big decision. Even when it came in and I saw it for the first time I had a minute of panic--the color didn't look like the sample and I had asked for it to be ordered in the exact same color combo. However, once I put it on I knew it was perfect. Looking at pictures didn't always erase my doubt, but wearing it always did. I think your dress fits the feel of your wedding perfectly and it looks great on you!

On another note, since I know you know how much I've struggled with my bridesmaid dress choice, I'm having second thoughts about those. I'm going back to the bridal shop today to look at the Amsale blush...again. I can't get them out of my head! They were all SO gorgeous when I went last weekend! I've been tracking down pics of them in blush all week. I need to make a choice!

I definitely know what you mean Kelsey, except I am the exact opposite.  I have a light and fitted chiffon dress, which I know will be absolutely perfect for my wedding, but I get a little envious when all of you post pictures of your fuller dresses!  I couldn't pull mine off at my wedding, but I would love to wear one around someday and feel like a princess!  Haha.

You are not an old bride, I am 43 and getting married in June.  So you should feel very young..
