are you letting them carry the actual rings or using fake ones?

Re: Those having ring bearers.....

  • Fake. Our church doesn't allow the ring bearers to carry the actual rings anyways

Interesting. I have never heard of a church not allowing this.

  • We have like a 20-30 page packet. They're so specific which is nice because it's easy to plan but I'm guessing something happened that made them get so specific
  • I'm just going to give him a pillow with nothing on it. I wouldn't want to put the real ones on there and I guess I figure if I'm not going to put the real ones on there then I might as well put nothing at all. He might be the ring bearer, but in my mind he's there more to just be involved somehow and look cute than anything else!

  • We haven't decided yet. I think we are going to wait until closer to the wedding to decided.

  • Fake. Our pillow came with fake rings already, so we're just going to go with that.

  • Fake. We bought really cheap silver ones from Amazon with free shipping.
  • Fake - he is going to be 2 days shy of being 6 and has to walk over a covered bridge over a lake. Sorry buddy!

<div>This for us as well.  Our RB's father is the best man (FIs brother) so we'll run it by him and see what he thinks is best.  Our RB will be almost 7 at the time.</div><div>
    </div><div>Edit: And he doesn't have to walk over any bridges <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div>
  • Definitely fake.  We are getting married outside and I don't think anyone wants to spend forever looking through all the grass for the rings should something accidentally happen! .. just in case...

  • Not sure yet; waiting to see what his mom (my MOH) thinks about it. He's my nephew and I love him but let's wait and see :)

  • My nephew will only be 3. FI's grandson (if we ask his daughter for him to be another ring bearer) is 4 months younger than my nephew. Needless to say, they will be FAKE rings.

<div>I barely trust the best man with the rings on this one!</div>
  • Fake.  We have 4 ring bearers. The older two (7, 6) will carry a scroll with "here comes the bride" on it.  The younger two (both 3) will be carrying stuffed toy dogs with fake rings around the collar.  They are all my nephews :)

  • My son will be our ring bearer and instead of him carrying anthing he will walk my neice ( flower girl) down the isle since our church dosent allow her to throw pedals. they will just be like a mini bridal party.LOL

  • Fake, My RB is 2 and is a runner, LOL. I can just see him now, running out with the rings. I need to find a pillow for him with fake rings attached.

  • My 2 RB's are there to pretty much walk the flower girls down the aisle.  They won't be carrying anything at all.
  • Fake, most definitely.  The three nephews we've asked to be RBs are older, but I still don't want to take any chances.  I already have CZ placeholder rings from Target for when my e-ring goes to be cleaned, so we'll just use those.

I have 2 "ring bearers"...they aren't carrying rings at all. They will be carrying a "Here comes the bride" banner.

  • Fake. Haha it's our Great Dane, and he also has to come over bridge. Sooo....actually, he probably won't even have rings or a pillow, just wear a bow tie or something.

  • Real. It will be my little brother and he will be six at the time. The rings will be tied to the Bible that will be used during the ceremony. He will just hand the whole little package to the preacher once he gets up there then the preacher will be responsible for them. I don't think he will have any problem keeping the Bible up during that short walk.

  • I doubt we will even have any rings on the pillows... we have 2 ring bearers and I dont really see the need to put fake ones on there.....

  • We are giving him the real ones. Our "pillow" is actually a large silk sunflower bloom so they will sit in the"face" part and have little chance of losing them. Plus his dad his a GM.

  • What's the point of having a ring bearer if you aren't giving him the actual rings?

I'm definitely planning on giving him the real ones and possibly tying them loosely to the pillow.
