XP: How many desserts should I provide?

We've opted away from a traditional cake and considered cupcakes, but there are so many delicious bite sized desserts too, so I think we'll be having a variety of choices presented on vintage tiered stands.

I'm thinking at least 3 options. One would likely be cupcakes and the other 2 more bitesized desserts (think cheesecake stuffed strawberries and 3 bite chocolate truffles). I can order those in dozens and the cupcakes in singles.

We're having 57 people total. How much of each dessert should I offer? These things are hard because I don't want to over or under buy.

It depends on how much food you are having for dinner and how full everyone will be, but I would say between 2-3 desserts per guest tota if they are bite sizedl.

We're having a served meal, with the choices being either beef stroganoff, turkey dinner with all of the fixings, or seafood lasagna with caesar salad. .

I had been thinking that 2/pp of the two to three bite desserts plus 1 cupcake/pp would work well, so thanks for your input!

ETA: I should note also that this is a lunch reception. The meal will be served at around 12:30-12:45 pm.

  • If you have 3 options, I would do 1 piece per person, per option. So 57 cupcakes, 57 mini cheesecakes, 57 mini brownies, etc. If I were at your wedding, I would take 1 of each to start and then probably go back for more (if there is more).

  • I would say 1 of each dessert per person sounds good.

  • I would also say one of each per person, and maybe get a few extra as well. It's always better to have more than not enough.
