Marriage License

All of you know that I am havnig my wedding at a resort in the Dominican Republic. Well we have to be legally married before we arrive or it will take about three months for the United Stated to acknowledge that we are married. From the start my FI has always wanted to get married on his Birthday ( May21). We almost did until we decided to do a Destination Wedding.  Well since we have to make it legal before we get down there we decided to allow our Marriage Counselor do the Legal CEMERMONY in our (New Home) on May 21.

Today my FI applied for the License. Now I have three Big Days to look forward to all a month apart!!!

Apirl 21 Pick up my Wedding Dress with Alterations done
May 21 FI's Birthday and Making Marriage Legal
June 21 The Wedding - We are using this day as our anniversary since this is when we shared it with our love ones.

Very exciting! & CONGRATS! My FSIL just did this, still refers to spouse as FI, her wedding isn't until December in Mexico, but her FI is from Denmark and they want to start the citizenship process, easier married!

That is my FI's birthday too!  We were thinking of going to get our marriage liscense taken care of that day since we are taking it off from work anyway!

Congrats!  One of my friends did it just like that. But she was so excited she wore her wedding ring after the US ceremony. I thought it was adorable and she got to wear her dress twice!

Wow that is a lot to look forward too, at least you will both get your dreams, he gets to get married on his birthday like he dreamed and you still get the big wedding with your loved ones and a new house, very exciting!!!

Congrats!! That is exciting- less waiting for you!  Are you and FI going to wear your wedding bands after the May ceremony?
