June 2012 Weddings

menu cards?

are they needed? or just an extra cost? I want to inform our guests what they are going to eat but don't know what to do.

What is everyone else doing?

Re: menu cards?

  • I made them....I thought they added a cute touch.  I have seen people just put one in the middle of the table if you don't want to make too many.

With mine, I just waited until Michaels had a sale on cardstock and ribbon and I ended up making 40 menus for less than $10 so it wasn't too bad!  I also thought it will be another nice way to bring my colours into the table decorations.

Here is a pic of the unfinished one....the finished ones are at my parents house so I don't have a pic.  I will have a small starfish where the shell is at the moment....just waiting for them to come in!

  • I made them on Vistaprint (I had a groupon to use).  I did the menu on one side and a thank you message on the other.  Haven't received them yet, but am excited about them.

  • This is what I'm doing. The menu is on the back of the table numbers, using the Tolsby frames from IKEA.

  • Ours are provided, unless I want them to match. Trying to decide if I want them to match...

  • I ordered cardstock from Cards and Pockets and am planning on making matching Programs and Menu cards. I also think that it is a nice way to bring our colors to the table.

  • We're dong them at the RD since they can choose between different things for both courses.

For the reception, I got a mirror that we're going to set up on an easel right outside the tent. I'm going to right in white paint pen (or something similar to that) so guests can know what we're serving. If you wanted to do this or something similar, but didn't want to do a menu card at every place setting, you could have a framed menu on each table.
  • Ours are in tolsby frames. One side is the table number the other the menu
