So, we are currently living in a very awful apartment. In our apartment we have two cats and one very excitable dog. It is very cramped. We started looking for options of where to move back in December.
We never found anything. Then, towards the end of January, we decided we would move into the best of what we saw in Dec. Which happened to be another apartment. Only this apartment had a dog park. Not a yard, but it was the best we could come up with.
After much talk, we decided to look again. Dog park apartment was at the top of our budget. We came up empty handed and decided we would stay where we are and just sign another year lease. As awful as this place is, it is cheaper than most other places. Which is probably why it is so awful.
Then, I go to work one day and my boss says, "Are you still looking for a place?" Um, yes...Then she offers me this house she owns that has been vacant for over a year! The rent is uber cheap. All we have to do is make it look nice so when the market turns around she can sell it. We're hoping she can sell it to us. We LOVE this house!
It has a huge yard for the dog. Enough rooms that FI can have a man cave. A two car garage, and a garden for me.
We are already planning our engagement party in the back yard.
