Re: Drew

  • Ash- Sorry to thread jack you, but I posted in the accountibility thread asking how you are doing with P90X and if you are seeing results. But then I realized you probably wont go back into that thread and I was just going to create a new thread but then saw this. I hope you dont mind! Just want to hear how its going!

  • I didn't see it on the accountability thread, sorry!
When I was sticking with it, I was seeing results. The workouts are intense but fun. I like challenging myself. The hard thing I have is all the equipment and DVD's are at FI's house and we don't live together so getting over there and doing the workouts is my struggle. When I was sick a couple weeks ago, I stopped to let my body rest and I am just now getting back into it.

How is insanity going for you?

  • I am! We just started week 5, and I can definitely see results! My waist is more defined, my tummy is smaller, and I actually have bumps on my arms where my biceps are! My clothes fit a lot differently. I tried on a dress over the weekend in a size 6, and it fit like a glove! 6 weeks ago, I was an 8-10 :)

  • That is great you are seeing those results! Like I told Chelsea, I wish I had all the stuff at my apartment so I could do it like the program says to do it

Ash- that is great! I am sorry you got sick though! I definately understand taking a break from it to get well.... the workouts (at least with Insanity) are so exhausting! I bet that is hard to get the workouts in since the DVDs are at FIs. Maybe once he is done you can take them to your house? Although we are getting closer and closer to the wedding, so tell him to hurry up! :)

Insanity is going really well.... I LOVE the workouts. They totally kick my butt, but I really love them. They remind me a lot of the workouts I did as a sprinter in track, really intense and fast moving. I think Shawn T (sp??) is very, very motivational. When I did the 30DS I had to mute Jillian, but this guy really keeps me going. I am on week 2 btw. I have lost 4 lbs... which I am really happy about- I was mostly trying to get toned up, but I will take the weight loss! I think I need to adjust my diet a bit and eat more calories to make up for the amount of calories I am burning!

FI is doing P90X as well and needs the DVD's too. Maybe I will look into 30DS and Insanity and do that on my own. Do you have to do that before Insanity or could I do Insanity without doing P90X?

I did the shred first so I could be in a little better shape before I started Insanity. I have never done P90X. But the main differences (according to the beachbody forums) is that P90X is a lot more strength training whereas Insanity is more ply and cardio (which is why I went that route). You for sure dont have to do P90X before Insanity. If you decide to go with Insanity, do your workouts in your socks (if possible).. it makes it easier to jump and move (for me anyway!).

  • I meant to ask if I had to do 30DS before Insanity.

I was looking at Amazon and the price for 30DS is really really reasonable. I am thinking of ordering that for the days I can't get over to FI.

Yeah I got it for 6.99 on Amazon I think! I really enjoyed it- but if you are used to Insanity, you will think its really wimpy!

  • I have ordered, hoping this helps me get the last bit of weight I want to get off when I can't get to FI's to do P90X. Thanks for your help

  • I also don't want to thread jack but I wanted to let you know 30 Day Shred is a good workout. I finished that about 2 weeks ago and then I got Jillian Michaels 6 week 6 pack, and Jillian Michaels banish fat, boost metabolism. Both of these dvd's are great workouts. Much tougher then the 30DS so I'm glad I did that one first. I have been switching back and forth between both DVDs, and finally I'm starting to see some results!
  • Jessica, thanks for the good review on 30DS!
