2 weeks out and not stressing about the wedding..stressing about..

WORK!!!

There's no one who is able to take on my work while I'm gone for our honeymoon. I'm only taking 7 work days total off (2 before the wedding, 5 the week after) but I've got SOOOO much to do before I can leave in order to not screw myself over when I get back.

It sucks

I'm working overtime this Saturday as well as next, but TBH, I still don't know if that'll be enough time to get everything done.

I know it will all be worth it to have 7 uninterrupted nights with FI, but *sigh*, it still sucks and is painful to get through in the meantime.

Anyone else feeling the pressure at work because of the impending vacation?

Yes, but for different reasons...  Almost a year ago a woman in our office quit.  I ended up taking on her job duties.  Now 2 mths ago another woman left us & guess what - yup, I am stuck doing her work too.  I never received a raise mind you...   Two weeks ago we hired a replacement & she worked one day & quit.  Sad since the job is easy & half the time they would be a bit bored (if they are a fast worker).  Now, 16 days out (technically 15 days from my last day of work) & they still haven't interviewed another potential person for the job.  TBH I hate my job & it is just that - a job and a paycheck.  I feel bad for the other ppl, since they will have to deal with all this while i am gone.  Oh well!!!  When my HM is over I am going to start searching for a new one closer to my new home.

I am too!  I love what I do and enjoy work but I never take this much time off.  I am stressing about it but know that I need to leave it all behind while on the honeymoon!

I am kind of stressing- I thought I would be totally unplugged during the HM (two weeks in Europe) and yesterday in a meeting one of the people I work with said- "Your blackberry is international- when I was in Mexico last year I checked my email about once a day and that was good."  I had NOT planned on even taking my blackberry- now I feel like a slacker if I don't.  I feel like FI would be pissed if I was checking emails every day.

Yes! I am usually the one helping everyone else catch up with their work, so I know when I come back from vacation there will be a ton for me to do. I'm trying to get as much as possible done before I leave, but it's going to be so hard to come back to work.

I know! But hopefully they will understand that you're on your honeymoon and not just any vacation.  I too am dreading the work when I return but I won't even think once about while on my honeymoon!

Maybe your phone will mysteriously break a couple days before you leave for your wedding?  Mine probably would...

I've been worrying about work because not only am I on my honeymoon during the first 6 days of quarter-end close (I'm an accountant) but there's been some undercover talk about sort of promoting me, and I wake up EVERY SINGLE NIGHT thinking that I need to get up right then and do this or that.  They're always totally dream-fabricated things, but in my head if I don't do them then I won't get the promotion.  I am exhaustedddd!
