I went for my fitting consultation with my seamstress on Saturday. I was expecting to go in, try on the dress, look at what needs to be done, crunch some numbers, get a quote and put down a depoit, then take my dress home with me until April or thereabouts. NO! She kept my dress!!!! ARGH. This is worse than leaving my little puppy at boarding for the first time.
However, the seamstress I am working with specializes in lace gown and vintage victorian gown restoration and custom replicas -- so I have complete faith in her talents and abilities to adjust my heavily beaded dress with ease. My alterations are going to be completed in about 3 stages, and the heavy beading is going to make it take a bit longer.
It's still nerve wracking to not have my dress in my apartment anymore! I've had it with me since September and I'm so uncomfortable with it being away from me!!! I know it's silly, but I just had to vent! I'm probably upset because I'm a control freak, and my dress is no longer in my "control". I'm sure I'm just overreacting.
