I didn't want to spend a ton of money on linens, and since our colors are really dark, I didn't want to saturate our reception too much. My venue provides either white or ivory tablecloths and I wanted to keep the overall feel light and airy, but I still really wanted to bring in our colors other than just the floral arrangements.
I found these runners on cvlinens.com a few months ago and thought they were perfect for the feel I was going for - and now that I have my dress, the swirls even match the embroidery on that! I know it's really early to order them, but the purple ones especially seem to be coming in & out of stock pretty quickly, so when I saw they were back I snapped them up right away!

They're a little wrinkled because they were all folded and in a box, but you get the general idea. Sorry for the crummy pictures, I don't have anything good to photograph them against!
Overall I'm pretty happy; for 13 purple runners and 3 gold runners + shipping my total was less than $65, and these are their more expensive table runners. The quality isn't amazing, but for the price and one day of use, I'm totally satisfied.
I'll have the purple runners on all of the guest tables, a gold runner on our sweetheart table, and a couple extra gold runners potentially for the escort card table. I over-ordered just in case, so I'll also have a couple to test wash and iron and such!
For any of you who are looking to bring in a little more of your wedding colors to the reception, I highly recommend this way; it's relatively inexpensive (rentals started at $5+), will give me exactly the look I'm going for, and I have the option to either keep or sell them afterwards!
