NWR: 1/2 Price Pots

Well, it's actually WR for me, but does anyone know if 1/2 Price Pots is still around? Namely, looking for a place that sells nice but decent priced larger pots. TIA!

the one on aurora closed so i am not sure if any of them are still around.  what are you looking for?

2 larger pots (guessing about 5-7 gallon size) that are fairly simple, nice, not pricey. And ideally a place around the south end, might be able to check something out up along the central to souther eastside. Also, anyone know of how/where I can get 3 "logs" basically a tree in length?

If you are looking for Urns I know my SIL has 2 that she wants to get rid of from her wedding.  I am not using them.  They are not pots though.  I have found that target or fred meyer (on sale) are cheaper than 1//2 price pots anyway.  let me know if you are interested and i can see if she has a pick.  They are in covington now. What do you mean logs?  Like cut pieces from a wood pile or like a tree trunk?

I'm open to the urns. How large are they and far up do they stand? Color? Yes, please send a pic jolenedes at yahoo.com . As for the logs, essentially when someone cuts a tree down, I know sometimes people will chop it into like 2' lengths then split it, but I'm looking for it in chopped, but unsplit form, if that makes sense?

yes that makes sense.  like the ability to use them for end tables.  How many do you need?  I have a cousin who just cut some trees down

3, and you've got the idea. I'm planning on using them to put the fuschia baskets I will use to sort of "dot" parts of the aisle, so that's why the 2-3' height (not sure what height would work best, maybe 3'?) and basically just a little bit bigger in diameter than a 10" basket. Let me know how much they'd run and where they're located. And if possible, pics. :) I was scoping out CL for a bit, but nada.

The one in Bellevue is closed too, so I think they probably all went out of business. Sounds like you are on your way to finding something though. GL!

Jolene, I faux finished 4 huge urns to look like wood. I think they turned out good. They are actually resin, but with the finish. look kinda rad if I do say so myself. They will be available after the 12th of September. I will go find a picture.... http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh243/ladydoveisangelarose/102.jpghttp://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh243/ladydoveisangelarose/103.jpgIf you think these will work, holla back girl! I don't think I could ship them for very cheap, would you be willing to come down to the Oly area to get them? They'd be free, but only cuz' I think you're so groovy!!

Holy urns, woman! You planning on opening a store? :) I'm literally looking to plant a hydrangea plant in each for a year until after the wedding when I will put them in our backyard, And now, as I type that, I realize that might not work since the plants would probably need a pot that has a drain hole. Damn. Let me think about how urns might work. I'll have to talk with one of my friends who is good with plants and pick her brain for ideas. Do you know the dimensions of the larger urns and how tall the foot of it is? If you want, feel free to email me jolenedes at yahoo.com

Tygirl - you could drill a nice big hole in the center of the urn bottom so that it would drain out inside the stand part. Since they're resin, I'm guessing as much of the stand would be hollow as possible. Ladydove would need to confirm. Also - off HWY 16 in Tacoma (19th street) is a great market called Tacoma Boys. When I lived in Tacoma, they had the same kind of large, lovely glazed ceramic pots they had at 1/2 Price Pots, and usually were running really good price deals. They tend to only carry the pots in the summer, but often on sale 2 for price of 1. I can't remember where you live, so I'd call to see if they have them first.

Oh! And you made sure they had the pots, right? They're really only a good price if they're on sale. Oh, and if you ARE talking Tacoma Boys - do me a huge favor! They sometimes carry this incredible melon and I can't remember the freakin' name. It looks like a honeydew on the outside, but has orange flesh and the most amazing flavor ever. They taught me to pick them by finding the ugliest looking one - if it had what looked like bruised spots, it's actually sugar and means it's perfect and ready to eat and sweet. I can't remember the name and it's been driving me crazy and my research has yielded nothing!Good luck :D

I was going to call to verify they sell pots at that location. I'll be sure to ask about the ugly melon if I head down that way. :)
