Rehearsal Dinner Invite Wording

Hi!  So this is my first post to this board!  I working on my rehearsal dinner invitations and I'm not quite sure how to word them.  Because most people are out of town, I am inviting their guests.  The dinner is only including the bridal party, our readers and our parents, but with guests there will be about 40.

Do I indicate that the actual rehearsal is at 5 at the Church and just welcome guests at the dinner at 6:30?  The dinner is actually at the hotel that most people will be staying at, so I'm sure the guests of the bridal party would rather just stay there and wait for us to get there.

I'm already confusing myself so I definitely want to make this clear on the invite!

Thank you!

  • I said our rehearsal was at 6:00 with dinner to follow at "Name of Restaurant" I would give them the option of coming to the rehearsal and not assume they won't want to

Personally I hate the idea of random people being at the rehearsal-in my experience the rehearsal is like herding cats, trying to get everyone to pay attention/concentrate. I don't need extra bodies there to complicate things. I would just tell your WP verbally/email the time of the rehearsal, and send out invitations to everyone for the "Wecome dinner."

  • I agree with PP.
I would have as few people at the rehearsal as possible. I would just say please join us for dinner on such and so date.

This is what we are doing. Also I would be bored if I had to go to a rehearsal and have nothing to do with it.

  • I'm giving everyone the option of both:
  • We had inserts made for our rehearsal dinner invites for those invited to the rehearsal with that info on there.
