Guest books

I am trying to figure out what I am going to do for my guest book.  I don't want people just signing their names that they were at the wedding.  I want people to be able to leave messages for me and FI.  I have seen all sorts of stuff people are doing.  From doing scrap book pages to mad libs for the couple and wishing trees.  We are having a small wedding no more than 50 close friend and mostly family.  Any suggestions?

We're doing an engravable frame and a wishing tree. I was able to cut costs by using the 250 free vista print business cards to make the wish tags.

They are so cute...

Basically you pick a design for the binder, and you purchase however many pages you want.  The pages themselves ask questions about the bride and groom and have room for well-wishes, and even sketches of the bride and groom

We did a photo guestbook from mixbook or shutterfly, I honestly can't remember because I looked at both and used whichever one I had found coupons for at the time. Anyway, we have some pages where there are just lines to sign the name but there are other pages where guests will be able to sign "yearbook style".

I'll be having index-card size pieces of cardstock at each place setting (where a menu would go, in the napkin).  Each card will have a question, the whole table will have the same question. For example friends will get something like "what's your favorite memory of the couple?" & older family members might get "what's your best marriage advice?".  Then I'm asking my photographer to get a picture of each table altogether, and I'll make a scrapbook with all this.

We are doing a photobook, and most people will probably just sign that.
Then on the tables we are having little "booklets" that will give guests the opportunity to write down little notes with prompts like...
-What should we do on our 1st anniversary?
-What is your best piece of Advice for A+K? etc..
-Maybe a madlib
-Some trivia about the couple for fun

This will give guests something to do as they migle and sit at their table waiting for food. It will also be a good way to allow the guests to write down more than just their names

I'm pretty sure we're just doing a photo guestbook, but I LOVE the idea of the thumbprints that make something - like leaves on a tree or balloons that the couple's holding. I'm still kind of hoping I can convince FI to do this:

i made a calender ( which made the cost free) and when guests arrive they put their names on their bdays or other special days so we can always have their bday and send them wishes on their special day. I also included at the top of each month space so if they want to include messages or wishes to us. I wanted to have a guest book that i will have and be able to get some use out of it in the future. i already have it made. if you want to see it. I'm going to cut 5x5 squares of fabric in our wedding colors for people to write on with fine print sharpie. Then FMIL is going to make them all into a quilt for us!

I'm doing a wish jar.... I found an antique blue mason jar and people can writie wishes on tags and put them in the jar.  I will make them into a scrapbook or something...

We are going to get a few terra cotta flower pots and have people write messages on them to "help our love grow." I wanted something that we could display in our apartment that's actually useful. Plus next year I'm going to have an urban garden so we can use them then!

we are doing 4x3 cards in our colors. They can write their messages on them for us and drop them in a vase that will be on the table. i will put them in our scrapbook
