XP: A twist on "cake"

So I was searching around trying to get ideas for our wedding cake since we have our consultation in two weeks. I came across this post (http://loveandalatte.blogspot.com/2009/11/let-them-eat-cake.html) So I sent a picture to my Mom. She came up with the idea to have indiviual ones for each guest then a small cake for pictures, etc. Opinions? Do you think it's a bad idea? Would you rather have cake instead?
