June 2012 Weddings

Does anyone know that website you go to to get all your marriage license/name change paperwork from?

I know there is a trusted website that you pay a nominal fee to get all the paperwork you need, but I cannot remember what it is called. I know it's been talked about on here before so if anyone knows the website I am think of I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!!

  • I looked it up last week, and you pay $30 for them to fill out forms for you which you then have to print yourself and actually bring in to the various places, and none of these forms are difficult to fill out at all.  $30 just to have everything in one place is kind of steep, IMO.

Agreed.  It's not too difficult anyway so I'm saving the $30 and doing it on my own.

  • Thanks DrPB! I'm clueless so should probably just look up the forms and do it myself... I assumed they sent them to the places for you which made the fee seem pretty good, but I agree that seems pretty steep for having to still drive around and pass in all the forms myself. Thank you!!

  • You need to have your certified marriage license and head over to the Social Security Administration to change your name on your SS card (the form can be filled out online and printed from their website). Then you head over to the DMV with the new SS Card and your current driver's license to get that updated. Be prepared for LONG lines... and double check your state's requirements. After you get those two cards updated, all the rest kinda fall in line. My job needs my new SS card to change my name on their paperwork. And as for bills and subscriptions... I'd just update them as they come in....
