Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue!

I have my something blue & my something new, but I'm not sure what to do for the other 2!

I am posting this on here b/c it's easier to add pics than the FB group!

My something new is my dress & here's my something blue

  • I don't have my something old or something borrowed yet either.

My something new is my dress of course:

My something blue is my garter & tossing garter (FI is a pilot so I got one with airplanes):

  • Old is my e ring (it belonged to FI's grandmother). New is almost everything-dress, wedding ring, etc. My shoes are teal (does that count as blue?) I'm also thinking about wearing this necklace which is blue:

My best friend has a ring that matches, so I've thought about wearing it on my right hand, or tying it to my bouquet as my something borrowed.

I've also thought about getting a small TARDIS pin/patch and pinning it to my bouquet or inside my dress because that's old, borrowed, and blue as a joke for my FI, who is a huge Doctor. Who fan.

  • Something new:
    Dress, veil, tiara

    Something old:
Diamond necklace FI gave me on our first Christmas

    Something Borrowed:
FI's name tape sewn into my dress

    Something Blue:

I do rhinestones (still need to order)
  • Something Old and Borrowed will be pearls that my mom has from my Great Grandmother.  We had to get them re-strung since they broke and we took two pearls out to make earrings as well.  I also have several old brooches from both of our families in my brooch bouquet.

Something New will be my dress and shoes.

Something Blue will be the stitching inside my garter, a handkerchief from my grandmother that I will somehow have on hand, and some of the brooches in my bouquet.
  • I was just freaking out to FI that I don't have a something old or borrowed yet!!  I read that your something borrowed is traditionally to be something borrowed from a happily married friend or family member.  Therefore I asked my mom if she could do my something borrowed instead of something old (was going to use a bit of her wedding dress to wrap my bouquet).  I hope to have something old from my grandmother as we're getting married on my grandparents' anniversary.  I've been freaking out though because I can't seem to get anyone to nail down anything, and I'd really like it figured out by now!!

My something new is my dress & my something blue are my shoes.

  • I don't have pictures, but...

    Something borrowed:
Bracelet from mom that was my great grandma's and earrings from my aunt that were my grandma's.

    Something old:
My grandma's embroidered handkerchief that I found the other day...it's so pretty and detailed!!

    Something blue:
My dress label (or my jewelry - bracelet and earrings have sapphires).

    Something new:
Shoes, dress, panties, veil...take your pick! :)

I'm also putting a sixpence in my shoe.
  • Something old: A sixpence from FI's grandmother that several women in their family have worn.

    Something new: My dress!

Something Borrowed: The three sorority sisters I have as bridesmaids are letting me pin their sorority pins onto my bouquet. FI's grandmother (same one with the sixpence) was also in my sorority, so I might ask her if I can borrow her pin too if she still has it, as well as FI's cousin who is one of our readers.

Something Blue: Honestly, probably my underwear, haha. Or my dress patch, but I might get that in pink (my wedding color) instead.

  • My something old is a pair of yellow gold pearl dangling earrings from my FMIL and my FUIL (future uncle in law)...(inside joke)
My something new is my dress, shows, garter, veil, and pretty much everything I am wearing that day.
My something borrowed is FUIL and those earrings, possibly a necklace but not decided yet.
My somethings blue are my custom garters and shoes. I don't have a photo of my garters.

  • Something Old: lots of things but mostly my engagement ring which was originally my great grandmother's

    Something New: My dress

Something Borrowed: My (deceased) grandfather's wedding ring.  I'm tying it to my bouquet.  I made my grandmother cry when I asked her if I could borrow it.  It's also a great way to feel he's there on my wedding day.

Something Blue: Diamond and sapphire bracelet my grandmother gave me for HS graduation.  It was her mother's (the same person as the engagement ring) and my grandmother passed away the year after she gave it to me.  Ignore the other random jewelry in the picture.

  • Old- the pearls my granny gave me
    New- pretty much everything
Borrowed- my mom's diamond tennis bracelet
Blue- the ribbon on my bouquet charm (it has a picture of my granny in it)

I'm also carrying a hankie that's been passed around and carried in weddings by all of the women on my dad's side of the family, so that's old, borrowed, and blue (the embroidery).
