Stressing!

My Fiance and I have less than 3 months to go (Whoo!), and I never stressed out about the planning until now. Any suggestions to helping the stresses calm down?

Re: Stressing!

  • Um...deep breaths? : we are all kind of in that boat right now. What do you have done so far/what do you have left? I recommend going on dates with your FI where wedding talk is off limits. If you can afford them, spa days are always nice and if you can't, pampering yourself with a mani/pedi at home with a good movie or music is always good too. Just give yourself a good, wedding a responsibjlity free afternoon sometime.

  • I suggests that you make two lists.  One list is for everything that must get one, and one list is for everything that you would like to get done.  Start with what is absolutely necessary, and do the extras only if you have time.  For me, the only thing that relieves stress is taking action.

  • I agree with PP. I have done everything listed above it helps keep you sane. We have a "rule" about not wedding talk while eating dinner. We see it as our time to destress and reconnect with one another. My best friend (BM) and I go get coffee once a week and wedding talk is off the table and for her she is not allowed to talk about her master program. It is a moment to breathe.

I have several lists but I always tell myself that no matter what at the end of the day I'm marrying my best friend.

  • I like the 2 lists idea. Make a deadline. Stick to it. The minute it becomes a chore and not fun, scratch it off the list.

  • Lists are good!! I suggest making a master list and then a to-do list/schedule for each week on Sunday or Monday (it's always fun to check stuff off!)

I found it really helpful to print off blank calendars for the next few months and transfer my to-do list onto the calendar--spreading out my projects throughout the next few months. It made everything look WAY more do-able and made me realize I actually have some free evenings to do what I want :)
