Ceremony Programs

Do you think they are necessary? What about for a small and family oriented wedding?

I say no but I know it's expected especially in my area and among our family and friends. Technically the only necessities are a venue, an officiant, a groom, a bride, and rings the rest is extra. That being said often the extra makes weddings more special and are expected by guests.

They are not necessary.
I will only be doing them if I have enough time to. They are not required by any means.

They're helpful when the ceremony includes religious components that would be better appreciated if there was an explanation for guests who would be unfamiliar with them. Otherwise, I doubt anyone would notice there were any.

Not necessary. I do prefer to have one because I'm usually early and it gives me something to read while I wait.

In your case i would say no, we are having a wedding at a catholic church so for us we have too. 

Did you find a honeymoon spot?

Not necessary, but we are having them. I plan to make them to save money. We are doing a handfasting, so the program will explain that. I, too, am usually early and programs give me something to read.

Probably not for a small wedding, but if you have out of town guest its nice to let them know everyone in your wedding. Lots of people like to keep them for keepsakes.

I definitely think they're necessary. Not only will be have our ceremony order and special people, but we'll have a small thank you to our guests as well as directions to the reception venue.

It's also nice that if you have a hymn or a prayer, that it's printed in the bulletin so your guests don't have to worry about looking it up.

It is unfortunately not in our budget, so I am not doing them regardless. We are writing letters for our parents to thank them during the ceremony.

I'm planning on making ours (I already designed them) I just want a single card (long vertical rectangle type) printed on both sides, but I'm not sure where to have it printed or what the paper size would be. Any suggestions??

While they are not neccessary, they are a nice touch to let the guests know who and what's involved.  We're also going to include a thank you to our parents in the program.
