Monday Challenges Accountability/30 Day Shred

How is everyone doing?

I know some of you are close to completion (if not already done) with one or more of the challenges. I wanna hear abotu your final exhaustion tests!! I am so excited to be in week 5 of the push up challenge!!

30 Day Shred:
Has anyone started? I know Shannon tried it out, anyone else? I am getting so anxious to get started!!

  • I'm very excited to start the 30 Day Shred but I also want to start around the time everyone else does!

    Challenges:

    Over the weekend I did the exhaustion test for push ups and sit ups. When I did my initial test for push ups I could only do 6. I am now up to 45 in a row! It amazes me! For the sit ups, I just finished week 2, my initial test I got 25 and this weekend I got 50 for my exhaustion test! I am also already seeing my abs again! EXCITING!!!

    Today:

    Push Ups W5D1:
    Program Goal: 170
    Completed: 175

    Sit Ups W3D1 (I will complete these tonight)
    Program Goal: 120
    Personal Goal: 130

    Dips W2D1 (I will complete these tonight)
    Program Goal: 80
    Personal Goal: 85

  • I am going to be attempting the 30DS tonight again.  I have been SO SORE that words cannot even describe, and honestly, on Saturday I was probably only able to complete like 60% of the workout...I felt like I was dying.  When we all start, I want to try to do it as close to every day as I can get, so that is why I am easing myself into it by doing every other day right now.

    That being said, I also took a break from the challenges.  I have a hard time tensing up my muscles enough to sit down, let alone do more strength training.  

    Is the plan to begin the 30DS together on Wednesday?

    Yes I that is what we talked about last week. I think what is most likely going to happen is whoever thinks of it first will start teh daily thread about it and every will report what day they are on and how it is going. That way we are all staying accoutable but we can all go at our own pace. Does that work for everyone?

    I was wondering how this would effect the challenges. I am hoping to push through this week but then maybe not start the squat challenge until next week. I would rather start that when I am not sore!

    I've seen you ladies talking about all of these challenges and now that you are done I'm interested....haha always how it works out :)  Is there a website that you are following or is it a program that you bought?  I just started tracking my eating and now I need to track some exercising.  Sounds like you had awesome results congratulations!

  • I'm going to get the 30 day shred dvd today so I can start that with everyone.

    Last night I did W5D3 of the push up and sit up challenges.
    Push ups: Programs goal: 120 
                      Completed: 125
    Sit ups: Program goal: 176
                 Completed: 176

    I also did the exhaustion test for the squat challenge and I needed to complete 75 to move onto week 6. I ended up doing 80 Squats!! So yayy I can move onto week 6. I will be doing the exhaustion tests for push up and sit up today! Hopefully I can do at least 45 push ups to move onto week 6. Can't wait to be done with these challenges and want to start the 30 day shred!

  • I started the 30DS on Saturday and I wasn't too sore on Sunday, but after yesterday....my calves are sooo sore.  I must not have stretched enough.  Even after only 2 days I feel like I can do this and will hopefully tone up. Good luck to the ladies starting this week.

    I definitely agree with the stretching!  I feel like what Jillian does for a warm up is not enough for my body.  I will be doing my own stretching before the workouts from now on!

  • I will possibly be starting the 30DS today, depending on how it goes with meeting with a personal trainer at my gym tonight. I won't be able to do it on Wednesday, so I want to get a head start. LOL.

  • Nice work everyone!!

    I did my week 5 exhaustion test and did 51 consecutive push-ups. That put me down another column for week 6....so I might have to repeat week 6 and/or 5 at the end of this week if I can't get 100 push-ups!
    But I will try at the end of this week and let you know! It's crazy how fast you increase strenghth. 5 weeks ago all I could do was 17 push-ups in a row.

    I will be doing to 30ds with everyone. But I am thinking about doing it only 3 days a week. I need to wait and see what my gym schedule will be like, because I'm not quite ready to give up some of those classes. We'll see how much I am able to do :)

  • I am on Day 6 of the 30DS, I have been doing it with FI we are thinking to move onto level 2 tonight, the first day was difficult but its gotten easy, though, I have heard level 2 is killer so maybe we will do the 10 full days of level 1 - we also haven't taken any days off and I see a huge difference in my posture. Goodluck to everyone starting this week, word of advice mute Jillian she is SO annoying... LOL
