June 2012 Weddings

The Bride has Pink-Eye!

A nice, hearty shout-out to my co-worker for coming to work after taking care of her grandson who has pink-eye, who in turn gave it to me as we share a desk!  Gotta love it! (dripping with sarcasm)

No work for me today (which means I don't get paid, and spending almost $200 for a doctor visit and my drops), doctor said 24 hours and I can go back to work.  At least it didn't happen on my wedding day.

  • Ugh!  Hope you recover quickly!  Oh, and remember to throw away any eye makeup you may have used since coming into contact with the pink eye!
  • OH Man that is aweful. I hope you recover soon, so sorry to hear about the added expense, probably didn't need that right now. Get better soon!
  • That totally sucks!  Luckily pink eye goes away really quickly.
  • Ugghhh, people and their germs. Feel better soon hun!

  • I am sorry you spent 200$ at the doctor! I have gotten pink eye a few times and I have found that the over the counter drops at the drug store are just as good as the ones you get from the doctor.

  • I feel your pain. I would get pink eye all the time. Hopefully everything gets better.

  • That sucks that your coworker shared her lovely germs with you :(

Stuff like this makes me happy to live in Canada. A case of pink eye only costs approx $5 out of pocket (with my health plan), or about $30 without a plan. $200 seems outrageous to me! Albeit, you likely pay less tax per year than I do, so it probably balances out when all is said in done.

    Feel better soon!!

  • $200 is crazy! That better be some super special meds!

  • aww, sorry! don't spend 200 on the doctor next time, though. I am prone to eye infections and they usually can take care of it at the Walmart eye clinic for only around 30 :)

  • Bummer! So frustrating when people pass stuff on like that. She sure ain't paying your $200 doctor bill! <snark> Hope you feel better soon...

  • Thanks everyone.  I've never had or knew how to treat it, hence the doctor visit.  If it ever happens again, I'll probably go the OTC route.
  • If it makes you feel any better...I got shingles from wedding stress :)
  • Definitely throw out any eye make up, brushes, foundation anything like that that!!!
  • That sucks!  I hope it clears up soon with those expensive drops.

  • Oh boo!!  I had that a while ago.

Make sure that you get rid of all of the eye makeup that you've used....or you will re-infect yourself.  Speaking from personal experience......
