Weekend Checks

It seems a lot of people are posting on the Facebook group but sometimes it irritates me the way it gets sorted so I'm posting here.

What have you accomplished this weekend?

Today FI's parents and my parents finally met!  I was nervous it would be awkward because they're really different people but it went really well.  There were no awkward silences which was my biggest fear.  I'm so glad that's over!

On th way home from the lunch meeting, my parents picked up our envelopes from the calligrapher.  Ahhh so excited!

Just ordered my garter set. It will be shipping out on 3/15! I think FI is really going to like it. Here's a link to it (FI's favorite team of all time)

I also called the limo company to be sure everything was still good. They had my reservation, but never processes my credit card for the deposit. They were really good to deal with and everything is now all set.

I called to book a suite for us girls for the night before/day of but I have to talk to the manager tomorrow. I want to be able to have a late check out from the suite so we can check right in to our rooms that we will be having for the night of. Right now, check out time is 12pm. I want to be able to have us girls get ready there without them charging us for another night for the suite. Hopefully the manager will work with us, especially seeing how our wedding reception is there and they are already getting a ton of money from us. LOL.

Got a great pen to address the invitations, got supplies for the favors and went to the post office to weigh the invitations and get their stamps!

Today I finished writing out the invitation envelopes!  So happy that's done.  I might start stamping my RSVP envelopes tonight, that way I can stuff the envelopes soon.  One month til they go out in the mail.

This is us, too!  My parents are 2 hours in one direction, his are 2 hours in another.  We've lived here 3 years, and both have come to visit us twice. 

I ordered the inserts for our invitations!  We got letterpress invitations which are super expensive, so to save money we decided to do the inserts ourselves.  I designed them all to fit on a 8.5x11 sheet, and we ordered them from CatPrint.com - they were really awesome to work with, and had a paper quality that I think will come closest to matching our invites.  I'm excited to get our hard copy proof (it was free!) in just a few days...

Our parents live about an hour and a half apart and we've been together for over 7 years!

Yesterday I had my hair and makeup trials. Today was our big planning meeting with the venue-we did everything from the wedding day timeline o choosing the menu to doings walk through. We also ordered our invitations which strangely makes things feel so much more "real" than anything else.

congrats on all the checks ladies! FI and I didn't get to do anything wedding related but we did have a heart to heart clearing up the air on how I was getting frustrated with him spending so much time at work, school and studying for boards. I will be glad when my happy, non-stressed FI is back

Kris, I would think the manager would be willing to work with you on the room since they are getting so much business from your wedding

My parents still haven't met FI's dad/stepmom and they only live about 35 mins apart.  His dad doesn't make much of an effort to try to meet them, then again neither do my parents.  But everytime FI and I try his dad can't do it so we're done trying.  I guess his stepmom will meet my mom at the shower (and prob my dad since it's at a golf course and I think the guys will go golfing while my shower is taking place).

As for checks, FI and I wrote out all of the names on the response cards (so that nobody writes in anybody extra).  I also just purchased a living social deal for 30 fitness classes for $30.  I bought one for FI's mom too so we can go together.  I hate going to classes and working out alone!  I think we are going to do kickboxing.

Got programs done last night and found someone to engrave FI's band. He's getting "Put me back on" engraved on it and it comes in 2-3 weeks from now!

Mine either.  But then....my parents live in WI - 15 hours away.  LOL  My FI just met them at the beginning of February!

WE finalized our cake - we are having a topsy turvy cake that is three layers .... lavender, green and blue.  It's pound cake w/raspberry filling.  WE are also having cupcakes that are chocolate and red velvet w/cream cheese icing. Yum!!

WE reserved our rooms for the motel for OOT guests.  My FI got a good deal on them.  YAY!

AND I finished talkinga about flowers with our floral designer....my cousin.  I think she got the flowers (we are doing silk) this weekend.

My mom started addressing the invitations.  She does calligraphy, so they will be really pretty.
