this is totally random, but I came home today and found my newly planted flowers to be nothing but bare little stems. I live on the second floor, have no animals and the flowers were on the outside of my window. so I was sompletely puzzled about what could have happened. I was also quite upset, because I had nursed these chalancoe babies for the whole winter (they dropped from the mother plant). and now there is nothing but stems.
so I put new flowers in the flower box. 2 minutes later FI is calling me all panicky, I ran over there and what do you know... there's this little brown bird checking out my new flowers. while I'm looking shocked, the little guy grabs a stem, snaps it and takes off with it! it looks like he's using the parts to build a nest... but have you ever heard of this? fresh flowers, eh? I had no choice but to bring the flower box inside and leave it on my window sill. looks dumb, but what else can I do? have a tiny little scarecrow? lol..
