June 2012 Weddings

Reception info on invite?

Are you doing this? I just don't think I want to spend the time/money on a separate reception card that people are just going to throw away. We're having a full Catholic mass so the invite is a little wordy. Do you think having reception info on the invite will be too much?

Thanks for your opinions. I'm having one of those weeks where I just can't seem to make any wedding-related decisions.

  • All I am saying is "reception to follow" at the bottom since my reception will be right after and at the same venue.

  • We are having a separate reception card. Only because we are only having a light hor d'ouevres reception and dont want people to stop reading the invitation to early and miss that part. We thought with the extra card more people would notice this.

  • I'm just putting "Reception to follow" with our website url. All the info is on the website. :)

Same here. I don't see the point of a seperate card unless there isn't room on your invite for it.
Our wedding website will also be on the invite.

[QUOTE]We put our reception info on the invite and we are also having a full Catholic Mass. We just mentioned it at the bottom of the invite it looked something like this: Adult Reception at <----Yes i know, complete faux-pas...whoops! ;) six thirty in the evening Hotel Name Address Address Our invites are the length of a piece of computer printer paper, so they are fairly longer. I think that it looks nice, and it doesnt require us to buy extra paper. Good luck!

I personally wouldn't care if I saw that on an invitation. Some people just don't get it and need the hint. :)

  • I liked the separate little card and it was included in the price of the invites. It just basically asked them to join us for the cocktail hour then dinner.

    Good luck to you!

  • I couldn't see paying for the reception cards either. So I included it on the invite.... I just put "Dinner, Drinks & Dancing to Follow at Name of Reception Site" then put our website at the bottom for those who want directions.

I didn't even want to pay for the RSVP card... I wanted people to RSVP on our website but my mom and FMIL were afraid older people would not RSVP or would be confused.

  • Reception info is necessary. If it doesn't fit on your invite check out doing something from Vistaprint
  • We are also having a Catholic mass. We used a separate card for the reception because there was not enough room. I also thought it was too wordy. I think you can find a reception card for less if you print it yourself in similar paper (catprint.com or Michael's).

This is what I'm saying too. The ceremony is outside and the reception is inside.
