Last Minute Flower Issues- Freaking Out!!!

So I've always loved the look of mint julep cups with flowers in them. When I got engaged my FMIL knew this and told me that her friend had 50 we could borrow for the wedding. This was great news and we planned all of our flowers around them. We could only get our hands on them 2 weeks ago since they were being used for another event. Well my mom picked them up from her yesterday and they are the size of a dixie cup and PLASTIC!!!!!! Definitely not strong enough to hold the amount of flowers being used. I am 10 days from my wedding and freaking out! 

No rental place in the area has them and they are way too expensive to buy

Get vases and paint them. It may be your only option this close.

But I am not sure you would get them in time.. even with rush delivery. I would suggest regular vases.

So crappy I'm sorry you're going through this so close to your big day! You're right that it's probably a bit late to get new ones shipped to you...

Are you completely opposed to the plastic? If you have no other options, you could always weigh them down with stones or something so they can support the flowers you've chosen.

Otherwise, I would hit up a dollar store in your area, stock up on inexpensive, clear vases, and paint them the color you want. I know you likely had a specific vision of what you wanted, but in a case like this, you may need to be a bit flexible. Remember: People are coming to witness you and your FI make a lifelong commitment to each other. No one will even know that the vases aren't what you had originally planned on, unless you tell them.

Would mason jars be a good substitute?  They're usually pretty cheap and you might be able to find some at garage sales or thrift stores or something.

Thanks for all the advice! It's just hard when you've had an idea in your mind for the last 14 months!!! They've given me another option but I also found silver bowls that might be nice. Here are the two options.

I think the hobnail mercury glass vases would look awesome! It's still something unique and not what you see at every other wedding. I would do those if I were you.
