We called our real estate agent and told him we no longer wanted to be involved with the purchase of this house. He is calling the sellers right now as I type to cancel the deal. He hates us, but oh well.....

Now once he's done cancelling the deal, we'll fire him and move on with our lives....

how wonderful!...we all are very proud of you & DH as we understand totally it was a very hard decision to make but a very necessary one at the same time...I concur, HAPPY HOUSE HUNTING!!!!

Its liberating but at the same time it just means that we probably won't be able to celebrate our first Christmas as Mr. & Mrs. in our new home

Good for you. 

I remember when we didn't get our first choice house (and second), but if we had gotten those, we wouldn't have the house we have right now, which is better than both of them. The time we wasted on the other homes delayed us just enough for our current one to come on the market and for us to snag it. 

I know it was hard for you guys to walk away, but the house (and realtor) for you is out there.
