Married Knotties.... name change question

I was thinking of using David's Bridal service (missnowmrs) to do my name change.  It's about $30 for a kit with all the forms.  You enter in the information and it prints the forms for you all filled out.  It is also state specific for your DL, etc. Here is the link---> clicky!
If anyone has used this before or has heard any reviews, I would love some feedback.

I haven't started the process yet, but probably will next week.It seems fairly easy.  Its my understanding that all I have to do is go to Social Security and show them my marriage license. They will then issue a new card and update my information, then I can go to the MVA (DMV) and update my license. After that, banks, credit cards, etc will happen as I choose to do it.

You can't go to the MVA the same day you apply for a new social security card. The SS office didn't tell me this so I went all the way up the to deal with the nonsense for nothing. The MVA needs to be able to see your name change in the system so you have to wait atleast 48 hours or wait until the card comes in the mail, my card came in about a week.

I don't think its worth it. I've changed my name on everything except my license and I haven't paid anything yet.

I've heard from other ladies that it's not worth it - you can do everything on your own at little or no cost

I agree with pp. I went the monday after we got back from honeymoon and turned in our marriage license. Got certified copies. Took that to SS office then had to wait 24 hrs to get Drivers License (paid $25 dollars for new license w/address change). After that I have changed my name at school (or work if I was working). Beside license no other costs to change my name. Since then as I have talked to my other service providers I have changed my name. For example when I spoke with my cell phone company regarding my bill I changed my name, insurance, etc. Really it will come as second nature when dealing with people because they will automatically ask your name and when they say blah blah blah it will click oh I'm married I need to change my name on this.

Right now I still have to change it at my banks, a few other credit cards, passport, and then organizations. Be prepared to carry around your new SS, Drivers License, and also the statement from the SS office showing you are also person with your maiden last name. We had some checks from our wedding made out to me with my maiden last name. To cash them I had to show current idea, then SS, then letter from SS with both new and last name.

Thanks for the heads up! I would NEVER do both in the same day. MVA and Social Security are HORRIBLE in Maryland and are poorly run. It would definitely be a gap in between the 2 visits...I don't think my patience could take it.
