Hair question for a destination wedding

What to do with my hair has been so stressful for me.  We are having a destination wedding in St. Thomas and I am kinda unomfortbale with relying on a hair stylist over there.  So here's what I am thinking.  My normal stylist has been doing my hair for over 10 years so I completely trust her.  I was thinking of having her do my hair in pin curls and take it down 2 days later for the ceremony.  I know I'll have to "sleep cute" for 2 nights but I'm not worried about that.  She did my hair like this for my sister's wedding and it turned out great the day of.  What do you ladies think?  Is this a crazy idea?  I just know myself and if I  get to St. Thomas and take a chance on a stylist there and end up not being happy with the results, I will be livid.

Honestly the humidity will probably be a factor. And I'm sure you'll have a wedding rehearsal or wedding related events. I would try to a referral for someone there.

I am having the same dilemma.  I am so worried about my hair.  My idea is to have my stylist do a style that is very do-able and pretty.  I will practice on it a few times, and I will do it on the wedding day in Jamaica.

Try something like that.  Look for bun hairstyles or curl hairstyles where you can do them yourself.

Thats an idea.  The guys are so lucky, one haircut, and he's done. :-)

If I can ask, what are you doing as far as your photographer?  Are you using the resorts, bringing your own or hiring one on the island?

Have you thought about a natural style, braids that are styled into a nice updo or something along that line?  That way you can have a nice style that will be humidity proof, you don't have to trust a stranger with your hair and you can also swim and do water sports worry free after the wedding.
