ThE something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue tradition? Cuz I have no idea lol

Its just exactly that. They say to have 1 of each of those so that your marriage will be happy. It started off as an English tradition.  I'm just doing it because it seems fun to do.

Each verse refers to a good luck item:

• Something old - continuity with the bride's family and the past
• Something new - optimism and hope for the bride's new life ahead
• Something borrowed - an item from a happily married friend or family member, whose good fortune in marriage is supposed to carry over to the new bride
• Something blue - Before the late 19th century, blue was a popular color for wedding gowns, as evidenced in proverbs like, "Marry in blue, lover be true."

It's not mandatory just a tradition. I think it's fun because it's like a little treasure-hunt to me and I love treasure-hunting. So far I've found something old (my mom's wedding band will now be my wedding band) and something blue (my dress label). BUT I still have to find something to borrow, which I'll probably get from FMIL and something new...

I wish I would have known that the something borrowed is supposed to be from someone in a good relationship. My cousin is giving me something borrowed and her marriage is not going too well.....
