Hello Ladies!My husband and I just returned from our destination wedding in Hilton Head, SC. I know some of you have had issues with families and friends not understanding the whole destination thing. I just wanted to let you know that having a destination wedding was the best thing my husband and I could have done. Our family and friends had a wonderful time and I've had several people tell me they plan on returning to Hilton Head in the future. Having a destination wedding cut down on some of the stress of an in town wedding and no one's family felt out of place or the need to host others which was great. We rented a beach house and stayed there for almost 1 week before we got married. Words cannot express how great our week was in Hilton Head with family and friends and many of our guests said they had the vacation of a lifetime. Best, Tara

Thanks so much for this post! Me and my Honey are getting married in Atlanta, GA but we live in Greensboro, NC. Most of my family is in Alabama and his is in Raleigh, NC. If we would had it in NC or AL the head count would have easily been 250-300 people. UUUGGGHHH!!! But we decided to go with a destination wedding to cut down on the cost per say. Everyone thought that we was crazy. But they don't think that we are crazy now that they know we will be saving about $10,000 (And no one is helping us pay for this)! And gladly the head count is to 85-100 people Now!

I'm glad things worked out for you! my wedding is in Jamaica and even though we have some fam living there, it wouldn't be nearly as much as family living in the states. Our parents came around with the whole DW idea so I guess that's a good thing but all in all it's just about me and FI.
