I think sometimes people cover existing problems with wedding planning and get caught up in the moment. I applaud them for be honest with their feelings.

I think there are brides who get caught up in the whole wedding planning process that they don't stop to think about why they're getting married in the first place. They're just waiting for the proposal to happen. In the article, it stated one of the reasons some brides gave about marrying the wrong guy is because they "wanted to be married". To me, that's a selfish act. Being married is supposed to be a sacred institution and should be upheld as such. (Granted, it doesn't seem to be seen in the same way anymore but that's the theory.)Also, if some ppl want to get married just because others are... that makes no sense to me. I feel a woman/man should find themselves first, where they want to be in life, then think about the next step. Me and FI feel like we're on the same page with the important things in life like our careers, family, etc. We're on a journey together but I know he's the right guy and that's why I'm marrying him. Some women don't view their relationships in the same way and that's what becomes detrimental to themselves... and their future husbands.

I'm glad they called them off instead of going through with it and worrying about what other folks, who aren't paying their bills, LOL, think!
