We haven't talked about it... Honesly, I don't think we will... nothing against the tradition... I just think jumping the broom will be enough for us.

What is that if you don't mind me asking. I have never heard of it.

Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is a " Cord of three strands?"

The cord of three strands symbolizes the joining of one man, one woman, and God into a marriage relationship. Marriage takes three; you, your soon to be spouse, and God. Check out GodsKnot dot com.

I think we will be doing that.  Every since he saw the movie Not easily broken he says that really important to him.  I think jumping the broom is enough but if thats what he wants to be his ONE input then alright.

I actually never heard of this that's why I posted about it also. We are jumping the broom. I've never been to a wedding where someone jumped the broom so we are very excited about it.

It comes from the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible. It says "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." The third strand is God in your relationship. We are planning on doing this. My fiance's dad is going to build us a shadowbox type thing where we can keep it and hang it up in the house.  not sure yet where/when it will take place during the ceremony, but I think our pastor can give us some suggestions for that part.
