African American Weddings

Questions?

I recently decided on my wedding colors which is blue (I fell in love with singer/rapper Timbaland's blue in his wedding), ivory and silver.  I located a florist that does such great work and got him to do samples.  They were drop dead georgous.  I decided on flowers for our waterfront wedding and reception ball room.  I found someone to do my invitations and menus and but she was very expensive.  I hate to put alot of money into something that probably will be trashed.  I think I can get them done by tracing them on cardstock like another bride did on the knot.  The caketoppers that many are using her of the monogram letter of the couples last name with rhinestones is a must have for me.  I went to look for rhinestones today but I thought Wal-Mart was too pricey.  Where are you all getting the rhinestones and what type and size?  Also does anyone have any ideas on where I can find silver beaded placemats.  I see many beaded placemats but none are silver.  I have a project that I am going to try tomorrow and that is spray paint a placemat that I love so dearly.  Thanks for any help and ideas anyone is willing to share.

Here are some suggestions for the beaded placemats. I think Bed, Bath & Beyond, Pier One, JC Penney, etc. sell them. I'm pretty sure I've seen them there before. Try catching them around Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year and they may be on sale. They usually market them as a way to dress up your holiday table. Sorry, I'm not any help with the other items. But let me know about the girl that traced her invitations.....I wonder if I'd have the patience for that. If it'll save money I'm sure I'll find it!

Hey Angela!!! Most of the ladies around here get their (wooden) monogram letter cake topper and other signs from a guy by the name of Crafty Eddy (Just email him at craftyeddy@gmail.com). I ordered my Rhinestones from https://www.dreamtimecreations.com and got size 12ss and 16ss flatbacks (foiled). There are a few other websites for Rhinestones also. HTH! I am not sure where to get the placemats from. Sorry.

Bigshow, how many packs of rhinestones did you purchase.  I need to order as soon as possible so I can get some of these lengthy DIY projects done.

I ordered the 10 gross because I needed it for all of my DIY projects (Monogram B, Cards sign and the WE DO Sign) For the Monogram itself, you will probably need about 2 gross (1 gross =144pieces). Take a look at my Bio under DIY Projects to see a couple of pics! HTH

In addition to the other stores suggested, Target always has something beaded, especially around the holidays. If there is a year around Christmas shop, check there also.I'm getting my monogram from Toppers with Glitz,  they have different color rhinestones you can get and you can customize your monogram according to your wedding colors, check them out.www.topperswithglitz.com
