Rehearsal Dinner Time Poll

What is a good time on a Friday night to start rehearsal dinner? Fi thinks 6:30p due to rush hour, but I say 6:00p. The rehearsal dinner site will be 15mins away. I was asking because, I need to contact my ceremony location in a few months to book a time, because if we wait to long, we might have to rehearse someone else or have to share that slot with another couple.Rehearsal should only be 1 hr long, but you know somethings might come up.

So I am assuming the rehearsal is at 5pm? and then you want dinner to start @ 6:00? FI is currect is the assumption that traffic is going to be hellish at that time. and if you are like me you are going to be heated if people are not on time. so then I would say just have it @ 6:30pm so you don't have to worry about traffic. Let me ask you this, is your rehearsal time etched in stone at the facility?

The rehearsal practice will be at 6:00 or 6:30. We assume it will take 1 hr to practice, then 15 min drive to the rehearal dinner.  We are trying to get a time estimate because our venue has agreed yesterday to allow us to have rehearsal dinner at the reception location. This is a copy of what my contract for the ceremony site regarding rehearsal: Rehearsal: The chapel may be scheduled (based on availability) for a one‐hour wedding rehearsal 1 ‐ 3 days prior to your ceremony. You are encouraged to schedule that date as far in advance as possible to assure availability. Spring Grove reserves the right to schedule more than one rehearsal on any specific date if necessary.

If traffic is the issue then 6:30 would be a better time to hold the rehearsal. If you have local ppl in your wedding nine times outta ten they will be taking off that day or getting off early. So 6:30 is a better time to hold it.

I think to allow your wedding party time to get home from work and traffic. Rehearsal should start maybe even push it to 7:00 that's to allow enough time for everyone to get there. I really don't think it well take a hr to rehearse it all depends on how large the bp is and if you are having them to do a special kinda walk down. Imo!

I woudl say 6:30 or even 7pm to be on the safe side. 1) You would hope that the reherasal starts on time but you never know someone could be late getting there. 2) Then you have the added pressure of getting everything done within that hour if you know you need to be at X place at a certain time. 3) Do you have any small children in the wedding party?? For that fact alone you may need extra time. If you don't have any small children in the wedding party then it won't be a big deal.
