Beware!

After reading futurescbride's post about uninvited guests, I just wanted to let you know to please have someone keep an eye on your gifts while at the reception, especially if your reception is in an easily accessible public place. I recently saw on my local news about a couple who were at their reception and their gift cards were stolen right out of the reception! $5000 worth of gift cards gone. It was so bad they had to postpone the honeymoon. Just wanted to make sure everyone isn't deprived on their wedding day.

WOW! I think we had some stuff stolen too. There were just way too many people (particularly future brides) that were there and apparently were empty handed. So Sad.

This happen to my neice at her wedding. Somebody stole about $2500.00 from her and husband, the thieves even   stole clothes from the dressing area.. My neice had her wedding at a very nice venue where her and the bridal party stayed in cabins on the  property...  They about 350 + people at the wedding.. Please be careful..

We have heard about this.  It sad, but unfortunately happens pretty regularly.  Since our wedding will be rather large, my mom and two aunts came up with a plan.  We will let the cards sit on the table as long as my guestbook attendants (two of my younger cousins) are there.  One of my aunts will pass by and pick up the cards routinely and they will be put in a safe place, like the car.  It's sad, but mom got scared when she saw someone we didn't know walk out with my cousin's entire card box at her wedding.  Turns out, it was a cousin of the groom and he was actually getting it to the bride and groom, but still we were like "who is this dude?"  He popped up out of nowhere and "volunteered" to carry the cardbox out.  Honestly, we didn't see him carry anything else out....a little suspicious if you ask me.

Thank you. There will be no gifts at my reception, having them sent to our home or mom's. That's a shame!

In New england it is considered bad form as a guest to bring gifts to a wedding.  So i always mail gifts. The bride and groom have enough to worry about then to transport gifts.  I wish my FI family did this ,they consider it tacky to mail gifts. Many people do not think of the thefts and the headache of transporting gifts.
