Hi Ladies - Here's a recap of our wedding on 9-19-09! Our Wedding was a DIY love affair Morning of the wedding day - I woke up and drove from the hotel to the wholesale flower shop to buy all the wedding flowers. I purchased enough flowers for 6 centerpieces, three bouquets and 4 bouts! Our flowers were white hydreageas, white roses, lilac hydreangeas and lilac roses. FYI - lilac roses smell Amazing! My BMs (sister and BF) and my mom all met at my houses to DIY all the centerpieces and dayof decor - (Our reception was at our house) I was literally sittig on my hard wood floors making bouts and bouquets! It was a blast and surreall at the same time We had a few small set things to do prior to the wedding at my house, set up tables and drop linens - Our Caterer would do the rest of us - love them I headed back to the hotel, We stayed at the Hyatt - My husband stayed in the same hotel in his dads room. Anyways once I got to the hotel I felt so chill after showered and waited for the hair sylist and makeup artist to arrive. Everyone arrived on time and started getting me pretty - it felt so nice being pampeed - lol - My sister and BM and mom and grandma arrived a few hours later - We all relaxed and chilling in my room. Our son went his dads room for 'Man Bonding Time' Tabar was also our ring bearer so it was a big day for him too My MOH ordered my room service and mentioned to the staff it was my wedding day - the wonderfull staff at the Hyatt brought me champagne and strawberries - too sweet! Before I knew it was time to put my dress on and get married! I was doing good the whole day and not getting emotional untill my dad walked in to escort me to the ceremony. He looked so handsome, and it hi me I'm getting married and my dad is giving me away to the man I love! Wow We got married at Capitol Park Old Rose Garden, in Sacramento, CA - the lovely rose garden was across the street from the hotel - which made for great shots walking accross the street! My heart pounded as I walked down the aisle I reconized family and friends and then they all became a blur once I saw my fiance - We exchanged vows he rasied my veil and then we kissed and are now man and wife! We also jumped the broom - we had a little blurb about broom jumping in the program and had the wedding commissioner mention what it means to us. After we jumped the broom it felt like all the old drama, hurts and dissapointments were left in the past! It feels so wonderfull to be married. Our Reception turned out wonderfull! The food was amazing, the caterers did a wonderfull job - so many people complimented our Americana Menu - and the cake looked amzazing - thanks Rajah for the butterflies!! All the DIY touches were worth the time: My DIY Pompadours looked amazing and real! Tip use high quality fuax flowers! Programs amazing etc.... My only dissapointment was my 'new family members' decided to come to the reception casual - they were dressed up for the Wedding - Other than that I had a wonderfull time...
