Videographer Funk

Ok, since we pushed the wedding date back, FI was finally talked into getting a videographer. Now I have been looking at several in my local area. There are some who are reasonably priced and then there is this one I contacted. He is charging $1500 for 3 hrs. Now I may be a lil uneducated on the cost of things but I think I can do a little better in terms of hours for less money. Here is the thing though, a lot of vids who are charging less money, a lot of them do no editing whatsoever. So I have no idea what to do now. I refuse to pay $1500 for a videographer. I have to live after this wedding. I thought about having a friend or family member film everything also but that can turn out to be disasterous too. What am I gonna do!!!! :(

um... I think $1500 is way too much for three hours. My video person is charging us  around $1600 and we get 2 videographers, 12 hour coverage, editing and 4 four hour hd and sd dvds. I think we get the unedited stuff too, but I'm not sure on that. Please keep looking. The right one is out there.

The person that we are thinking of going with charges 695 for five hours and you get two cds and two locations. 895 for three locations and two cds and 6-7 hours. 1095 for three locations and unlimited time I think.  We are in Atlanta but he travels.  Let me know if you want his information.  I haven't met with him but the photographer that we were thinking of using referred me to him and his website says he's been doing it for 15 years - in the Caribbean, in the U.S., and in Canada. Here's his website - http://www.framesinmotion.org/His name is Earl Warren

$1500 for 3 hours? what is he smoking? MrC, Finding a reasonable photographer was the most frustrating part of the wedding planning. I searched and searched and searched and finally found someone under $500. I say keep searching. Ask your local board. GL Mama

I'm having the same dilemma and like you I refuse to pay that much for a videographer. Have you searched for more possible videographers? If you try thepros.com they offer several packages and they aren't so expensive. Try them. GL!
