The Civil Ceremony dress!

Here is the dress! Now, the dress was a size big so I really don't look like Grimace. I'm going to add black heels and a wide black belt in the middle. I'm also going to dress it up with some "bling" dangle earrings and carry a small bouquet of white roses. My veil is going to be custom-made with purple lining to match the dress. The good thing about this dress is that I can wear it a few times over and I can totally use it as my reception party dress. My mother originally made that suggestion and I thought she was crazy. Turns out she knew what she was talking about! The first pic is just the dress and veil. I love the dress. You look very nice in it. But I think that since you are going to have purple incorporated into your veil then you should wear shoes the color of the dress. Your bouquet is going to be white and your veil color is white primarily. Black, to me will take away from everything. This dress is already dark in color. Black will take away from the elegance of it in my opinion. Also wearing bling will definitely will bring it all home. I really do like you in this dress.

yes ma'am, you picked a very nice dress for your civil ceremony and you know me - LOVE ANYTHING WITH COLOR...but I gotta agree with MrClintons, putting black with your dress (belt & shoes) won't accent it the way you want...have you thought of wearing some sexy silver or gold sandals that will compliment your earrings??...keeping your bouquet & veil simple and classic will bring focus on your elegant dress...just think about it for alittle bit...when will they have your alterations completed??

Alf, I'm going to a local seamstress to get the alterations done. DB told me the alterations wouldn't take long but I heard horror stories from them so not going there. I haven't checked the timeline with her yet because our wedding is right after the holidays (last week of January). I'm not sure when to get the dress altered since the holidays are approaching and I tend to eat, lol. Does anyone have any suggestions?
