How do you deal with Shine-Takers?

Shine-Taker: 1) Someone who makes your situation somehow about them when it's really not; 2) someone who ruins your special announcement/moment/day by pulling a Kanye; 3) someone who can't stand to see you happy and wants to shut it down. How do you deal with it? I'm trying to be patient and give glory to God but ooh chile...some people are testing me...

    Girl our very own President showed us how to deal with folks like that with elegance.. One of the knotties put it on here last week sometime.     LOL - I had to deal with quite a few while planning my wedding: My MIL, at times my own mother (sad) various friends and family. I just kept calm and carried on...my favorite new saying + I vented to FI, MOH and my newest friend via the knot Rajah.....A good vent always helps

    LMAO at Mrs.clinton'sfirstlady.  Enough said!  That's all you have to do.  foxxy1 I love the fact that you call people who try to ruin your special announcement/moment a "pulling a Kanye".  I'm going to have to borrow that. I deal with a bunch of non-wedding related Kanye pullers at work.

    Love the video. There are so many shine-takers and joy-stealers out there it makes no sense. I keep focusing on the fact that its my blessing and the only way they can ruin anything is if I let them.
