What is your biggest wedding splurge? Name the one thing that you didn't budget enough for, but will have regardless:)I pretty much over budgeted for everything especially my dress and was ecstatic when it came in way under my 3k budget. However, my biggest wedding day splurge will have to be florals. I initally set my budget at $2500, but after realizing that everything in my hometown of Miami is inflated, I realized my florals may come in closer to the 4k mark. I justify it in my mind, by how much money I "saved" on my wedding dress.

I think my biggest splurge was the venue and the decor for the venue. Girl you are right- I just have to justify this money in my mind.. and not let FI know how much we really spent..Deception at its best :) ha!

Girl, same boat as you: florals.  I never thought we would be spending so much on them but in Miami, everything is "over the top", including the prices.

My biggest slurpge was the venue and the reception decor! I'm trying not to let FI see any reciepts until after the wedding! I have them hidden under my mattress! LOL

I havent decided on this yet but I think it may be a photo booth.  I didn't budget for it at all but I'm loving the idea! Everything else has been pretty safe so far...

I splurged on my dress. I spent over double the budgeted amount. Thankfully my mom graciously picked up the tab. Other than that we are pretty much sticking to budget.

The reception venue. We are spending double on our original budget but it requires next to no decoration for the place itself, we have it all day, and there are windows all around so we can see the stars. Perfect backdrop to our space themed sci fi wedding.

My biggest wedding splurge is the reception.. I extended the guest list... Thank God I saved my money....

Adding more people to the guest list will definitely end up being the biggest splurge, and the Church but I don't know if a neccesity can be considered splurging.

I think my biggest splurge had to be the dress.  I went over budget by about a grand.  I just couldn't leave it in the store and risk having someone else buy it though, lol.

I have two.  (Sad) 50 extra people at the reception - the reception meal is dual meat and plated option, not buffet, so that's about $60 per person.  50 extra people were not budgeted for. Honeymoon.  We planned to use our timeshares for two weeks in Europe.  Well, I fell in love with a mediterranean cruise to Greece and Croatia and, of course, did not want to give up either so now we are having a 3 week vacation in Europe - and the cruise rooms will be have the nerve to be suites or balcony rooms.  My FI doesn't quite know how much over we are, but he knows we're over. Scared to tell him.

Biggest splurge is hands down our DECOR including the florals.

I would say my dress! We are having a small DW in Montego Bay and our entire wedding and honeymoon totalled is only $4300 (not including rings and attire).

You know miabride, I cannot say I really splurged for anything if that  makes sense. We kind of planned for everything and even when FI got laid off, I still kind of stayed within my means to get everything I wanted. I think that if I do splurge for anything, (and I am still praying about that thing lol) it will be the cigar bar for FI.

My biggest splurge is photography. They will be the only thing, next to videos and maybe some cake that we'll have afterwards...

My biggest splurge is the whole damn wedding. The purpose for having under 90 people originally is to keep things under 15k....yeah right! I don't even want to type the number, my hand may start a revolt and smack the chit out of me! Everything is expensive, but its FI fault! He wants everything he sees. I'm telling him we have to live beyond the day. At least our reception is paid for already, thank goodness.

My biggest splurge will probably be the $700+ designer shoes that I'll be wearing on my wedding day. I've always wanted to buy shoes that expensive and i figured what better day to do it than my wedding day. My FI says i'll be wearing those 700 dollar shoes for the rest of my life.. lol..

Lovie, I'm mad that your hand might start a revolt and slap the chit out of you.  Hillarious!  But I'm like Lovie, this whole damn wedding has been a splurge.  I had no idea going into this how much everything would cost.  I just set these arbitrary figures down on paper and called it a budget.  It wasn't until I started meeting with vendors that I realized how unrealistic my budget was.  But I would say that my biggest splurge is my ceremony and cocktail hour music.  I hired two violinists and they are awesome!  They were not in the original budget at all.  I also think I splurged a bit on photography.  In comparison to what most people in my area pay for professional photographers maybe its not a big splurge, but it's more than I planned on spending.
