Dress Shopping for TTC BM....

I'm getting married next August, and one of my BMs will be TTC next summer. She's waiting until March or so to start that so she won't be too preggers to fly to the wedding (she lives in NJ, we're getting married here in Seattle). Which is great, except I'm guessing we'll want to order BM dresses by then and we'll have no idea how pregnant she'll be in August. So, I have a couple of questions: -If I'm getting married at the end of August, when do I need to order BM dresses by? I'm thinking beginning of March at the absolute latest, since it'll be prime season and all. -Where's the line between "bigger sized regular dress" and "maternity dress"? She'll be 0-5 months pregnant at the wedding, and it seems like most of my friends started moving into maternity clothing around the 4-5 month mark. Any thoughts? I've had several competing ideas, ranging from "let her decide what to order and deal with the consequences of that decision " to "order a maternity dress for her and cover the cost of that, just in case she needs it."

There was a discussion about this a few days ago on the WP board - you might do a search on there. Here are their suggestions:http://talk.theknot.com/boards/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=62095651&forumid=37

dmw 2010, You are correct that you would want to order the BM dresses in March. From what I understand, on average they take 3 months to get them, and then you will want time for alterations. As far as what to order. Honestly I think it will depend on several factors, including the style of dress. If you are going to have something more form fitting it will likely pose a greater challenge than if you choose something more flowing. I would also suggest calling a bridal shop and asking them for advice. They have likely seen this situation before and will be able to help. I hope that helps you. Although it's a tough situation, the good thing is your friend will be by your side on one of the most important days of your life. :)Congratulations!

It probably depends on the dress, but we ordered ours six months in advance to leave time for alterations if necessary.
