Update: My dad

So he had an appt with the cardiologist today and he sent him straight into surgery! We had NO idea this was going to happen. They made him stay awake during part of it. My boss was really understanding and even asked me if I wanted her to drive me to the hospital. BUT, now he feels like 100 times better. He isn't having a hard time breathing or eating. They drained 2/3 a liter of fluid from around his heart. They decided that it was pneumonia a while ago but the cardiologist doesn't think that the stuff in his lungs was pneumonia because what he sees in the xrays doesn't support the other doctor's findings. Anyway.. they are going to test the fluid they got from around his heart. He thinks it could be cancer after all. I'm trying to be optimistic. I hope he will feel better.

Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry!  How scary!  I'm glad to hear he's feeling so much better after the surgery though.  He'll be in my thoughts.  *hugs*

yikes!  that's awsome though that they were able to get him in right away and  get that fluid off him....he will breathe a million times better....it most likely is  fluid that just ended up on the wrong space...i see this (not that i'm a cardiologist)....prayers and good vibes headed your way!!!!!!nurse amy

thanks ladies! i appreciate your support! i texted my dad this morning to see if he was up and doing well. he told me he woke up at 2am and snuck out at 4am to get fresh air and got busted! hahaha. like he's 14 again! security came and found him!

I know it's scary when your dad goes to see the doctor and next thing you know he's in surgery! Love that he snuck out! He's obviously feeling so much better without that pressure from the fluid. Sending positive vibes out there for you and your dad that it is all ok.

I just got back on today after being sick with the flu since Sat. I am glad to hear that they were able to help your father feel better. To bad he got busted by security but happy to hear that he felt good to get up and grab some fresh air.
