Is $1275 Too Much For Videography?

I contacted  several videographers earlier this year for videography services and one company just stood out. The videographer was so kind and willing to work with me on deposit because I thought the deposit amount was tooo much but was willing to cut in half. Since then this same videographer has emailed to let me know of the new site and current productions. I follow this company faithfully on FB and know the reputation is A+++ but not sure if the cost is worth it. I tried other videography companies and the product is not the same and even tried videography students on Vimeo but some are kind of.....not sure if I want to depend on them for the most day in my life to film.

I really want a video to come back and watch and not the norm. This videography company notified me that they will honor my email correspondence pricing from earlier this year, and only charge me $1275. I think videograhy is 4-5hrs, so it will be mostly ceremony and reception no filming of getting ready which that is okay with me. I attached a similar videography company with the look/style of videography I desire below. Please let me know if $1275 is worth it!

For 4-5 hours, I think it's steep. I've found some cheaper than that here in Houston.
Just think about... will they have 1 or 2 cameras, a mic, do they edit the video, do they do guest interviews...? I say just count the costs.

Like I found one here for $900, 1 camera, no editing, but unlimited filming. I like the price, but I really want 2 cameras and editing. {And I want pre-ceremony recorded, so unlimited is excellent!} But it all depends on what you want AND your budget.

The average pricing in my area is 1500 and up for a hd video like this. It does include editing. No guest interviews, which I'm not a fan of anyway. It does include 2 cameras, one manned and other unmanned. Now, I have come across some lower in my area but the videos are not as clear and not that dramatic affect like watching a movie I desire. Btw, the videographer site I posted, his cheapest package last year was starting at 3300.

I think it's reasonable given your description of the company and their work. I busted the budget for our videography but it's totally worth it to get something you'll cherish. One day, our grandchildren will watch these videos and wonder what it was like in 2010. LOL. But seriously, if you're in love with their work I think you should go for it!

That was pretty much the ballpark we encountered. I think ours was total $1600 but we had 2 cameramen for 6 hours each....

I think that price is reasonable for the Cincinnati area.  I'm paying a bit more than that.  Who are you going with?

It depends on your finished product.  Here in the Washington, DC, area ... If you are going to get an edited film (multiple angles, video effects, music, etc.) and highlight reel, it's a bargain!!  If you're getting a straight, beginning to end recording of the day, then it might be a bit pricey.  It might be worth it to post this on your local board.

    Good luck!

I think thats a pretty good price for what you explained. We got a really good deal and in Miami the avg price for video is 2k and up.

My videographer's price was $1200 for all day filming including getting ready, 3 cameras, mics, editing, and 4 dvd copies. Fortunately we got the summer special that he was running so we only had to pay $550, but I think he was worth his $1200 normal price though.

That sounds about right to me as well. Ours was around there. With all day coverage, two cameras, mics, editting and guest interviews. We just figured that these are our memories. So the three things that we really spent the dough on was the venue, the photographer and videoagrapher. We went cheap on the flowers lol
